Plasma Air Delivers Clean Air to the New TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport

Most would agree that hotel guests do not want to wake up to the smell of jet fuel and car exhaust. While indoor air quality may not have been a concern when the iconic TWA Flight Center opened in 1962 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (then called Idlewild Airport), nearly 60 years later it is. When the landmark building reopened as the TWA Hotel this past spring, it became JFK’s first on-airport hotel. Located directly across from JetBlue’s Terminal 5, the TWA Hotel is accessible via car, AirTrain, or directly from the arrivals level of the terminal. Given the hotel’s proximity to transportation, it is estimated that countless guests will be passing through this hotel and a key component to serving them is to maintain healthy, comfortable indoor air quality.

The Relationship Between Classroom Air Quality and Student Performance

Parents and teachers care deeply about our children’s education. Who doesn’t want them to have the most fruitful experience possible? One aspect of education that is often neglected is indoor air quality. Plasma Air: Leading the IAQ Revolution

For commercial, institutional and industrial facilities attempting to maintain a healthy indoor air environment, ensuring regulatory compliance for outdoor air intake is a serious challenge that often results in wasted time and money. To help meet these standards and minimize the use of outdoor air, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) provides facility owners and operators with the Indoor Air Quality Procedure from Standard 62.1 that provides a series of complex equations designed to help reduce the minimum level of outside air intake.

Cool and Purified Indoor Air Environments, Even as the Mercury Rises

More and more frequently, when the mercury rises past a certain level, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will issue an air quality alert, warning parents with children, the elderly and people with respiratory issues who are most at risk to avoid the outdoors. But unexpectedly soaring temperatures can still arrive during autumn and increasingly so, in some regions of the world, in November and December.

A Breath of Fresh Air: Solving the Challenge of Indoor Air Quality

As polluted air engulfs the rural areas of the United Kingdom, excessive smog closes schools and construction sites in China, and wildfires in North America send pollution levels skyrocketing, the quality of the air we are currently breathing is deteriorating on a global level and posing a serious threat to our health. In fact, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), air pollution causes more than three million premature deaths annually around the world – a number that many experts expect to double in the next 35 years.
